Make sure you wear waterproof boots that fit well, allowing enough room for thick, warm socks. Keep in mind that wearing warm socks and waterproof boots will make your feet sweat, and may cause athlete’s foot. Therefore, always opt for moisture-wicking socks.
Dry, cracked heels are common due to low humidity in our warm homes. Apply rich moisturizing cream daily, rather than a lotion, to your feet and stay hydrated.
Avoid placing cold feet in hot water or near direct heat, as this can result in swelling and inflammation. Instead, slowly warm your feet by changing socks and covering them with a blanket.
